Horwood House History
The Horwood House Milton Keynes was constructed in 1911 for Frederick Arthur Denny in an Elizabethan style. It rests on the site of a former 300-year-old farmhouse which was, during its prime, known as Rectory House. The wider estate once consisted of an extensive 482 acres, comprising parkland, woods, a village hall, two farms and 11 cottages. The imposing house initially featured 14 bedrooms, five bathrooms, nine bedrooms for servants and a stable. In later years BT added certain sections to the building, while in 2006 the hotel underwent a refurbishment thanks to its current owners.
